Criminal charges filed against mom who left infant while at casino
Criminal charges have been filed against Ada Schwartzmann, a Mesa mother who allegedly left her child home alone while she went to a local casino.
The Maricopa County Attorney's Office filed a criminal complaint alleging one count of child abuse, a class 4 felony and domestic violence offense against Schwartzmann. Mesa police say that a close relative who lives next door awoke around 5 a.m. Saturday and noticed Schwartzmann's vehicle was gone. The relative went into Schwartzmann's unlocked home and found the 10-month-old baby crying in a rocking swing with a wet diaper. Schwartzmann was arrested on a child abuse charge when she returned home.
